Write about the following topic:
Some say that public health is important and there should be more sports facilities. Others say that they have a small impact on individuals. Discuss both views and giver your opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
You should write at least 250 words.
Some countries have better sports facilities while some other reckon that these facilities are wastes of money and resources as people hardly care. Though the government strives hard to conduct the public sports facilities, it rests upon the individual to take part and encourage these facilities.
Some officials say that sports facilities are a waste of resources and money as people hardly care. This is probably true to an extent. For example, in the recently concluded marathon in Bangalore, only 42 people were counted to take part in the event, a figure too low to the number of young people in the city. These kinds of figures discourage the sports authorities to come up with public facilities. The sports authorities advertise these facilities and events in such a way that they attract a large number of people. They could use the wall posters, office bulletin boards and reach out to several schools and colleges, spreading the advantages of sports.
On the other hand, some believe that sports facilities improve public health and hence they reckon that there should be more sports facilities. While the reason they mentioned is true beyond doubt, I cannot render their opinion to increase the sports facilities valid. In some states, these facilities are just a disguise for many officials to steal the public money. Furthermore, so many rich people use these events to legalize their black money. In the Commonwealth games conducted in Delhi in this year, it was assumed that about 5 billion dollars were sidelined by the corrupt politicians.
In a nutshell, I do believe that public health is important and sports could improve it. However, care has to be taken while organizing these facilities as a lot of funds would go in the hands of corrupt politicians. Moreover, authorities organizing the facilities should advertise properly and attract a large number of audiences.
