Increasing the price of petrol is the best way to solve growing traffic and pollution problems. To what extend do you agree or disagree?

Recently, there have been must debates about overwhelming traffic and pollution. One of the most concerned issues is whether we should use oil price as a method to inhibit this problem. In my own view, it’s quite difficult for people to decide whether to support or reject the statement above without a cautious analysis of sides, advantages and disadvantages.
To begin with, costs, in general, take an important factor in controlling the economics. In fact, administrated activities of authorities virtually try to alter, directly or indirectly, the value of products. There is no doubt that adjusting prices is an effective and conventional method. Concretely, with petrol, increasing the price of petrol will absolutely makes immediate affections such as decreasing transport consumption and inhibiting traveling. These obvious results seem to be a very convincing argument for those who support this proposal.
On the other hand, if people look at the other angle of the problem, it’s really clear to see many latent risks behind the method above. Raising petrol cost easily lead to the instability of others products’ price. In fact, almost all common products have the delivery processes which are inevitably using petrol. The truth is that dealing with this anticipated situation is far harder than the original one.
Next, looking back at the issue, in my opinion, this problem cannot be solely solved by polities. Otherwise, it’ll be easier if people have their own conscious awareness about traffic and environment in which they’re living. Instead of forcing people to do the right things, helping people know what are the right things to do is harder but far more effective. It will cost a long time of great effort but I think it’s totally worth.
All things considered, no one can alter the fact that dealing with major problems like traffic jam and pollution needs a long term combination of many methods. Clearly, increasing price of oil is a good one. However, I personally believe that the main factor always start from people.
With the rapid growth of technology, there has been a growing concern towards increasing traffic and pollution problems that have made the urban life miserable these days. Many people contend that the best way to curb these problems is to raise the fuel prices. However, I do not agree with this argument completely.
Although, the higher prices of petrol may lead to lesser use of cars but it is not the best solution to solve the traffic problem of big cities. Indeed, it may breed other problems such as raising other commodities’ prices, especially food and clothing as well as adding to the chaos among public. In my opinion, there are many better options available than mentioned above. In this respect, the appropriate strategy would be to create awareness among people to abide by the traffic rules and regulations and also penalize them for breaking or disobeying the traffic rules. Thus, there is a need to create civic sense among people. This can be done with the help of awareness campaigns as well as through media such as television, newspaper and internet.
Furthermore, the concerned authorities can check the engines of vehicles, emitting huge quantity of harmful gases in the environment. Their use must be banned or orders should be issued to replace the engines with the more efficient ones. This step would definitely contribute positively to preserve the natural beauty and maintain a healthy environment. In addition, traffic problems can be controlled when there is proper road system. The higher authorities and city district government must also ensure that the road infrastructure is proper and up-to-the mark.
In conclusion, in light of the above mentioned measures, I believe that expensive fuel will not contribute much in lowering the traffic and environment problems. What is more essential here is the formulation of proper road traffic rules and the guided authority to help implement such rules.
